OnGuard Authentication - Enhanced Security for Online Banking

In our continuing effort to protect your financial information, we have installed a new security feature and now require the use of a more complex password for Online Banking. OnGuard provides strong authentication to protect your online account from unauthorized access. The cutting-edge system, OnGuard, is being installed behind the scenes.

How will I be affected?

In most cases your access to our secure site will not be affected, except for the initial setup, and when OnGuard challenges you to confirm your identity. Here are some of the differences you will see:

  • In addition to the OnGuard system, a more complex password will be required - one that has a minimum of six characters including a combination of letters and numbers and contains at least one capital letter.
  • On your initial logon on January 22 or after, you will be asked to pick and answer several personal questions.
  • During your next few logons after you have answered the personal questions, this new high-tech system will recognize you if you continue to use the same computer and will not challenge you.
  • On Guard will compare over 15 different access characteristics to authenticate your access.
  • After OnGuard has enough access history for you, it will determine if the computer that you use to logon is different from the computer you have used in the past. If it is different, as well as at certain intervals, you will be asked to verify your identity by answering one of your selected questions.
  • Incorrect answers, the same as an incorrect logon ID and password, will prevent you from accessing your account. If this should happen, please call Nantucket Bank's Call Center. (508)228-0580 or (800)533-9313.
  • The security of your information is of vital importance to us. The new enhancements will be easy for you to use while protecting you further from an unauthorized user.

We encourage you to keep all your logon information private.
