Security
NCR’s Consumer Banking Solution, used by Nantucket Bank, takes full advantage of the security provided by OnGuard, your web browser and NCR’s web server. Your transactions are encrypted as they travel over the Internet. Anyone trying to access your communications will not be able to decipher them. The Netscape browser displays a lock in the lower left corner of its window. Microsoft Internet Explorer browser displays a lock in the lower right corner. When these are in the "locked" position, you are in a secure session. In addition, your account is protected by your User ID and complex password or PIN (Personal Identification Number). No one can use your account without knowing both your User ID and your PIN. It is important to protect this information to maintain security of your accounts. |
|
Encryption
This system is designed to use 128-bit encryption, the most powerful encryption security technology available on the Internet today. |
|
Automatic Time Out
Your Online banking session is automatically discontinued after 15 minutes of inactivity. This "time out" is included as an additional security measure. |
|
Log-On Security
The first time you log on to Online Banking you will be required to change both your temporary User ID and temporary password, answer one security question and four questions that will be used with the OnGuard security system..
It will be necessary to reset your PIN when:
• You have made three attempts to log on with the wrong password or User ID or
• The answer originally entered for OnGuard is not the same. You may also have to have your account unlocked by Nantucket Bank and, in some cases, re-enter the answers to your OnGuard questions.
|
|
Logging Off
For maximum security, we recommend clicking on "Logout" when you have completed using the Online Banking site.
