Nantucket Junior Miss Program

The annual American Junior Miss program has as its goals promoting scholastic achievement and self-confidence among teen-age girls. Every year on Nantucket, Junior Miss is a much anticipated event. The girls are judged on academic achievement, poise, talent and physical fitness. Winners receive scholarships totalling over $30,000.

Not only is Nantucket Bank a sponsor of the event, but Nantucket Bank employees help make this program a huge success.

Each girl is partnered with a volunteer chaperone. Nantucket Bank employees serve as chaperones and make a major time commitment, and are instrumental in helping the girls prepare for the event.

Nantucket Junior Miss winner for 2009 was Shantaw Bloise; First Runner-Up, Samantha Reis; Second Runner-Up, Alexandra Kopko; Third Runner-Up, Lia Newman; and Fourth Runner-Up, Adelle Beaumont.
