Community Hero Spotlight: Peggy Kaufman

Each year Nantucket Bank asks members of the community to nominate local individuals and organizations that have had major impacts on their communities. The top 12 heroes are selected by a committee and featured in the following year’s Community Hero Calendar.

January 2017 Community Hero

Peggy Kaufman
started visiting Nantucket in 1945 and officially made it her home 22 years ago. Peggy serves on the board of the Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum and the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket Council, and has been a board member for the Nantucket Salt Marsh Center for nearly a decade. Peggy is known for her dedication, community outreach, fundraising, and consistent hard work. A pleasure to work beside, Peggy is more likely to praise others for their service than accept it for herself.

Peggy will be sending her $1,000 donation from the Blue Hills Bank Charitable Foundation to the Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum.

Thank you, Peggy, for your many years of commitment to bettering the Nantucket Community.
