Community Hero Spotlight: The Nantucket Food Pantry

Each year Nantucket Bank asks members of the community to nominate local individuals and organizations that have had major impacts on their communities. The top 12 heroes are selected by a committee and featured in the following year’s Community Hero Calendar.

The Nantucket Food Pantry

November 2017 Community Hero

Led by Anne Marie Bellavance, and her amazing dream team of volunteers, The Nantucket Food Pantry provides food on a temporary basis to residents and families in need. The Nantucket Food Pantry believes that effective service begins with a better understanding of what the community needs and connects the abundance of our island’s local food system to the healthy future of Nantucket and its residents.

Each Community Hero is awarded $1,000 toward a charity of their choice. The Nantucket Food Pantry will be accepting the $1,000 donation from the Blue Hills Bank Charitable Foundation to help continue its mission.

Thank you, Nantucket Food Pantry, for your dedication to the present and future needs of island residents.
